Have you ever been on a journey or perhaps an adventure? Dora was my daughter and I favorite adventurer, she was always going somewhere, looking for clues until she reached her destination and will get excited when she does. Our favorite part would be singing “We Did It Yeah, Oh We Did It”. Sure glad I’m writing, and not you actually hearing me sing. People don’t have time for adventures anymore. It's all about work, hustle, grind and more grind.Things are different with a roller coaster ride, a lot of people enjoy those wormy looking things when the summer comes around. Roller Coasters are not my thing cause I like to stay flat footed and on level ground as we would sing on Sunday mornings. I don’t see the need and thrill for one, but to each his own. If you are in a serious relationship with God then life with Him is a journey and your ride on that journey is a roller coaster.You see God has a plan for our lives but He never gives a detailed blueprint of what lies ahead. You just have to be brave and get on the ride and hold tight and trust Him. On that ride there are some twists and turns, ups and downs, but still believing He is able to get you to your destination. So many emotions are on that ride, you are excited one minute the next minute you are scared but just keep holding on and stay focus on the process. My journey with God has had some difficult moments and despite the malfunctions and pit stops I refuse to get off, like Job who said "Though He slay me , yet will I trust Him (Job 13:15). God requires His children to fulfill their purpose and the plans He has for them here on earth and in doing that we influence others and expand His Kingdom to His glory. You may have plans for your future and you may think you know what you want in life but on this journey your life is in His hands. Jeremiah 29:11 says "I know the plans I have for you, once you are in the will of God, anything that happens, God allows it but He uses it. Obedience to God is the key in this, to move you from point A to point B, not your own way, it will not work. You will look like a fool if you think you know whats best or you can do it on your own. Your life is hidden in Christ once you're His disciple. I was obedient in my next step and that's when the roller coaster took a big drop. You can be obedient in something but get disappointed in the obedience because God uses the good, the bad and the ugly which are distractions from the enemy, but God uses it to accomplish His purpose. You will never fully understand what God is doing but He requires for you to know His character, who He is in your situation. God guides you on this journey using the stories and scriptures as clues in His Word. On my personal journey now, I feel like I am on a ride called 'The Joseph’s Thrillz'. Joseph had dreams, had a coat, got all excited, just to be thrown in a pit, sold as a slave and then put in prison, but God was with him. Since being on this ride I have learnt that I was intentionally put on pause by God, I was stopped in midair. He needed to get some stuff out that was placed on the inside when He created me.Skills and talents I did not know I had in me and because we can be too busy to hear God’s instruction, He decided that the ride will stop midair long enough to get my attention. Still on this ride, no intentions of getting off, waiting for it to start again, but in the mean time I will trust God and leave all consequences to Him. Don’t know where it's headed but as long as my Savior is next to me I know it's going to be alright.
