Sometimes in life we feel down, like nothing that we are doing is coming together, its just not working. There is no fruition of all the labor you have put in. You feel like giving up on that assignment, but in reality, you can't, why? It's not yours to give up. God has given you a task to be done and He expects you to do it. To continue the work. God has given many of us things to, but often times we get frustrated because we are not seeing the results of it, it is not successful, you tried everything possible but to no avail. But I am here to encourage you, do not give up, continue to do what God has placed in your hands. As believers in a God that is Sovereign, we tend to give up easily. If we look at secular businesses, we will hear stories of how they persevered and endured all that came their way. They will tell you, they had a mind that was made up, to never give up. No matter the cost, they kept trying and believing they will succeed eventually. Not so as believers, we want things to come easy, we don't want to put in the extra hours and lose our sleep, we want things to be handed down to us. Yes sometimes God will allow favors that we did not have to do anything for, but in the beginning of our journey God is looking for hands that are not idle but are willing to work. In the beginning of creation, the first thing God gave Adam was work, God created a work environment, the garden, and Adam had to manage it. God wants us to work but not as the world teaches. In the world, they cheat others to reach the top or be dishonest to accumulate more money. God wants us to be good stewards and good stewards are good managers. Good managers knows that whatever they are managing it is not theirs and so they try their best to handle the owner's property well, because they have to give an account of it. There are some things we have to do to be good managers, so we do not give up. One, we have to be disciplined in handling God's work and assignment. Planning out one's day and getting things done is a start. Two, persevere. Good managers continues firmly doing what they are doing in spite of difficulty or opposition. Simple, do not stop, keep going. If something does not work, look for other ways of doing it. The inventor of the light bulb failed many times during his research, in fact he had 1,000 unsuccessful attempts before creating the first light bulb. Edison did not called it a failure but said he found 1,000 ways it did not worked. God calls us blessed when we persevere, James 1:12, We will receive what He has promised if we persevere, Hebrews 10:36, and when we glory in our sufferings it produces perseverance, perseverance produces character and character produces hope, which will not put us to shame, Romans 5:3-5. Three, good managers are consistent in their work, they keep at it over and over, until they succeed. It is a steady pace, Ecclesiastes 9:11 says "the race is not for swift or the battle to the strong", good managers are in a marathon to endure to the end, not a sprint. God teaches us not to become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up, Galatians 6:9. So though you may not see the results yet, God wants us to keep going, keep pushing. A wise man said in Ecclesiastes 11:6, "Sow your seed in the morning and at evening let not your hands be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that or whether both will do equally well. God may have given you one task or multiple assignments to do, and it seems like nothing is working, or it is not enough, but keep at it. God's timing is perfect. He knows the time and season for your release. During our perseverance, discipline and consistency, God is producing some things in us, our character. He is refining us as pure gold, so we may shine and look good for Him. We are being prepared for the promises. Through challenges while doing our work we develop resilience. People who endure trials and sufferings are often changed by the experiences. Our Father, we thank you that we can give you glory during hard times, that we can have joy during those difficulties while we try to do what you have call us to do. God we know whatever hardships we face, you will pour out your grace and mercy on us because you love us and want to see us establish, perfected and complete. So help us to hold on to your promises even when it seems hard. We trust you Father with our lives and we know you will never put us to shame. We thank you in Jesus' Name.
